Awarded 90 points from Wine Enthusiast and Northwest Wine Report, this vintage is a wonderful example of a cool-climate Chardonnay. Sourced from our estate, this wine is well balanced with elegant flavors of golden apple and vanilla bean with brighter hints of meyer lemon and minerality.
"The aromas offer notes of creme fraiche, pear, lemon curd, and apple. Full-bodied, well-balanced tree fruit flavors follow... There's a pleasing lemony freshness supporting it all. 90 Points." - Sean P. Sullivan, Northwest Wine Report
A Note from Winemaker, Leo Gabica
"Traditionally, I craft our Chardonnay with close to 50% of the wine in French oak barrels. For our 2021 vintage, it was a really warm year and I wanted to protect the natural flavors and acidity of this varietal. I made the choice to lightly oak this vintage, just over a third of the wine went through Malolactic Fermentation in French oak. The remaining wine was kept as purely stainless steel. You will still get a touch of the creamy-textures from the oak aged wine, but overall you are going to be getting a new view of this misunderstood varietal. I am very happy that Chardonnay is making a come-back, and I do credit that to having a gentle approach to the relationship of oak and Chardonnay."
